The man accused of shooting his uncle and aunt, then setting fire to their home will not be leaving the Calloway County Jail.

According to a clerk at the courthouse, Pascasio Pacheco Arellano appeared in Calloway Circuit Court Tuesday morning, where Judge Randy Hutchens denied his bond. Arellano's next scheduled court date is December 2.

Monday's story:

The Kentucky State Police have made an arrest related to the deaths of four people in Calloway County last week.

Police say after interviewing numerous people and executing several search warrants, they met Saturday with a family relative, 21-year-old Pascasio Y. Pacheco Arellano of Mayfield. Detectives noticed the man was injured and took him to a local hospital, where he was admitted for treatment of his injuries, which police say he sustained while committing the crimes.

When Arellano was released from the hospital Monday, he was arrested and charged with four counts of murder, along with 1st degree burglary, 1st degree arson, and tampering with physical evidence. He was taken to Calloway County Jail.

Trooper Jay Thomas told West Kentucky Star that the suspect is the nephew of the adult male victim, Bulmaro Arellano, who was shot. His wife, Marisol Hernandez-Arellano also died from a gunshot wound, and their two children, ages 5 and 1, were killed in the subsequent November 19 fire.
