Two people were arrested Tuesday after a reported disturbance in Mayfield.

Mayfield Police came to the 700 block of North 13th Street after learning that a man and woman were yelling and screaming in the street. Officers spoke to 20-year-old Shauntres Tyler and 26-year-old Hannah Terry, both of Mayfield, but they refused to cooperate with an investigation into what had occurred.

Through witness interviews, police determined an altercation had taken place regarding marijuana and a phone. Officers say they found a small bucket of marijuana in the street, along with paraphernalia consistent with trafficking drugs.

Police say they also found marijuana on Tyler, so he was arrested for trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) 1st offense, domestic violence assault with minor injury, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with violation of conditions of release from a prior assault against Terry.

Terry was arrested for trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces) 1st offense.

Both suspects were taken to Graves County Jail.
