Elderly Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Pickup

A Fulton County accident Friday involving a pedestrian and pickup truck claimed a man's life.

According to Kentucky State Police, the collision took place on Kentucky Highway 94 close to the intersection of Kentucky Highway 1212. Police said 92-year-old Dairus T. Carr of Hickman was crossing the highway to his mailbox, and was struck by 21-year-old Ryan M. Henderson of Fulton.  

Troopers said wet roads contributed to the accident.

Carr was taken to a Union City hospital for treatment of his injuries, and was being transferred to a Memphis hospital when he succumbed to his injuries.
