UPDATE: An escaped Graves County Jail inmate has been re-captured, which in turn has led to the arrest of several others.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, back on Oct. 5, 26-year-old Darius T. Harrison escaped the Graves County Jail after having been arrested back in April on charges related to a robbery.

Graves County Sheriff's deputies, United States Marshals, McCracken County Sheriff's deputies, and the Mayfield Police Department conducted numerous surveillance operations which led to the discovery and arrest of Harrison Tuesday night at a home near Clayshire Court.

While working on the investigation the owner of the home, 35-year-old Michael Payton, denied that Harrison was inside.

After the search and arrest of Harrison, Payton was also arrested and charged in connection to the case.

While searching the home, another man was found, 26-year-old Cody Cordell, who was wanted on an outstanding Graves County arrest warrant for bail jumping. Payton is charged with second degree hindering prosecution or apprehension, and Cordell is charged with second degree bail jumping.

All three were arrested and lodged in the Graves County Jail.


PREVIOUS STORY: According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, Darius Harrison, an inmate that had escaped from the Graves County Jail has reportedly been captured by Graves and McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies.

Deputies say that Harrison was found at approximately 6:45 PM Tuesday at a home near the intersection of North 13th and Valley Drive in Mayfield.

Graves Deputies expect more information to be released late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
