Starting Monday, Sept. 30, a series of ramp closures at the I-24 and US 41-Alternate Exit 86 Interchange in Christian County. The closures are to allow shoulder curbing, milling, pavement and guardrail work along the ramps.

The closures will be phased to allow access from one direction or the other along US 41-Alternate on the following tentative schedule:

Week of September 30
Ramps A & C from US 4-Alternate southbound to I-24 westbound and I-24 eastbound to US 41-Alternate

Week of October 7
Ramps B & D from US 41-Alternate southbound to I-24 eastbound and I-24 westbound to US 41-Alternate

Week of October 14
Ramps E & F from US 41-Alternate northbound to I-24 eastbound and US 41-Alternate northbound to I-24 westbound

This closure schedule allows an alternate route between US 41-Alternate and Interstate 24 during the ramp work.  Motorists will be able to travel to the next intersection or interchange, do a turnaround, and access an open ramp from the opposite direction during the closures.

Work on each ramp is expected to take about 5 days to complete, weather permitting.

This is part of ongoing rehab work along Interstate 24 from the 86 to 93 mile marker.
