Last Friday, the Graves County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Graves County Road Department about a firearm they found.

A mowing crew from the road department was mowing a county road between Sedalia and Wingo. One of the workers came across a firearm along the side of the roadway. The worker immediately called the Sheriff's office and the firearm was seized.

The Sheriff's Office checked the serial number and the firearm has not been reported stolen.

Anyone who believes the firearm may belong to them is being asked to contact Captain Jeremy Prince at the Graves County Sheriff's Office by calling 270-247-4501. Anyone calling to claim ownership of the firearm will need to describe it along with what type of case it was in.
