The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a flood advisory for several counties in western Kentucky.

Fulton, Hickman, Carlisle and Graves counties are affected until 10:30 p.m. At 8:28 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms continuing. Radar estimates show around 2 inches have fallen in some areas. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area, where storms are training over the same ground.

Lyon and Caldwell counties are under a flood advisory until 10:00 p.m. More than 3 inches of rain has fallen this evening across the southern part of the county.

Additional rainfall of 0.5 to 1 inch is expected over the entire area.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
