Former Lyon County Teacher Arrested

Police have arrested a former Lyon County teacher on felony charges.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says an anonymous caller made a complaint Saturday about 33-year-old Michael D. McCuiston, a former teacher and coach at Lyon County Schools. Lyon County Sheriff Brent White says he then contacted Lyon County Schools Superintendent Russ Tilford and began an investigation. White said his office also contacted Kentucky State Police, who began working the investigation.

Officers in Webster County arrested McCuiston early Sunday morning on a charge of tampering with physical evidence, a class D felony.

White says McCuiston is suspected of being involved in sexual exploitation related offenses in his previous employment. He asked anyone with information to call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office or Kentucky State Police.
