Just how cool was the wave of brisk fall air that swept into Paducah on Friday? The coolest in seventy years.

The National Weather Service office at Barkley Field recorded a high temperature of 64 degrees on Friday afternoon, which broke the record for the lowest maximum temperature of any September 12th in Paducah. The temperature broke the previous mark of 68 degrees set in 1944.

Normal high temperatures for this time of year average 83 degrees.  Monday's high is expected to be about 81, then back into the 70s for the middle of the work week.
