GOP's Lincoln-Reagan Dinner Friday
By WestKyStar Staff
MURRAY, KY - Embracing the values of past leaders while continuing the race before them is what area Republicans hope the annual Purchase/Lakes Area Lincoln-Reagan Dinner will inspire among area conservatives.
The dinner will be at 6 pm on Friday, Feb. 22 – which is George Washington’s birthday – at Murray State’s Curris Center Ballroom. Event speakers include several recently elected Republican representatives Steven Rudy (1st District), Richard Heath (2nd District), Lynn Bechler (4th District) and Kenny Imes (5th District) as well as newly elected state senators Stan Humphries (1st District) and Whitney Westerfield (3rd District).
“The Race Continues” is the theme of this year’s dinner. Among the guests will be Republican leaders from the Purchase and Lakes area who generally attend with their core members to celebrate the cause of conservative values of the Republican Party.
“The Race Continues uses a cliché that many Kentuckians will understand having grown up with the horse industry,” said Calloway County Republican Party chairman Greg Delancey. “The newly elected Republicans in the House and Senate are chomping at the bit, but realize we’re only to the first corner of the race to victory. Together we win the race, but separate we give way to liberal challengers.”
Tickets for the event, which include a MSU-catered meal, are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. For more information or to make reservations, contact Diane Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 270-436-2722.
