According to the AAA East Central Gas Price Report, the average price of gasoline across west central Kentucky is two cents cheaper this week at $2.59 per gallon. Statewide, Kentucky's gas price fell by three cents to $2.63.
Nationwide, the average cost of gas is at $2.83, down about a nickel.
In Paducah, local gas averaged $2.56 in the past week, down three cents since the May 7 report.

Over the Memorial Day holiday, drivers across the country paid about 16 cents less per gallon than last summer.
Regional gasoline stocks declined by 2 million barrels, per the Energy Information Administration's (EIA) latest data, to drop levels to 47.3 million barrels. Tight gasoline stock levels during a time of increased summer travel may push gas prices upward in the coming weeks ahead.
Regional gasoline stocks are over 5 million barrels lower than at this time last year.
