Gas Prices Drop 1 Cent, Expected to Remain Stable

Gas prices in western and central Kentucky are a penny cheaper this week at $2.36 per gallon, according to AAA's Gas Price Report.

On the week, most states in the region saw average prices drop or remain the same, but in Illinois and Kentucky, prices increased by 3 cents and 1 cent, respectively.  

The average price of gas a year ago was $2.76 per gallon.

Most regions across the country saw gasoline stocks increase over the week and refinery utilization held steady. This means the region is likely to see gas prices remain stable or trend cheaper in the immediate future. 

Nationally, the average price this week is $2.65, which is nine cents more expensive than last month, and 26 cents cheaper than a year ago. 

Average prices of unleaded self-serve gasoline in our area include $2.41 in Bowling Green, $2.33 in Elizabethtown, $2.55 in Louisville, $2.26 in Owensboro, and $2.25 in Paducah.
