A former Kuttawa official and her husband have been indicted on theft and forgery charges.

Court records show a Lyon County Grand Jury indicted former Kuttawa City Clerk Katie Harrison and her husband Clayton Harrison on theft and forgery charges on Monday. Katie Harrison is charged with 24 counts of second degree forgery. Clayton Harrison faces 10 counts of second degree possession of a forged instrument. All of the charges followed an investigation into missing funds at the office where Katie Harrison served as city clerk.

The Grand Jury added additional charges of abuse of the public trust, tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and theft by deception over $500 against Katie Harrison. Clayton Harrison was also additionally charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and theft by deception over $500.
