According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, a deputy spotted 21-year-old Dustin McReynolds of Mayfield walking on West Broadway in Mayfield at 8:30 Wednesday morning. According to police, McReynolds was a fugitive from Graves County and there was at least one warrant for his arrest.
When the deputy tried to arrest McReynolds, he fled on foot toward Jackson Purchase Medical Center and Graves County High School. Both facilities were put on lockdown.
Deputies said McReynolds was somehow able to catch a ride to his home off KY 1710, just east of Mayfield. When officers arrived at McReynolds’ home, he fled on foot again to a nearby home. McReynolds was apprehended at 11 a.m. Wednesday inside the home without incident.
He was lodged in the Graves County Jail and was served the outstanding warrants for failure to appear and bail jumping. He was additionally charged with fleeing and evading police.
A total of 15 law enforcement officers and two K-9 units pursued McReynolds.
