Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon died Saturday at the age of 56.

Graves County Coroner Brad Jones said Redmon died of natural causes at his home early Saturday morning.

Redmon's law enforcement career in Graves County spans more than 30 years. He first served as a deputy under Sheriff Burl Youngblood, then as a police office with the Mayfield Police Department.

There, he reached the rank of Assistant Police Chief, before moving back to the sheriff's office as the Chief Deputy under Sheriff John Davis. Redmon served in that capacity for 12 years, before becoming Sheriff in 2011.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at His House Church on Cuba Road in Mayfield with Rev. Chad Lamb, Rev. Robbie Courtney and Father Darrell Venters officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. Jerome Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call after 5:00 pm Monday at His House Church and after 9:00 am Tuesday at His House Church. Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements.
