His car collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Aaron Durham of Cairo, Illinois.
Durham's vehicle caught on fire, and there were four other people in it. Durham and three juveniles were taken to Mercy Health Lourdes for treatment of injuries they received, but 11-year-old Christian Durham was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County coroner.
Antonia was taken to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The eastbound lanes of I-24 were closed for about 4 hours while state police cleared the scene and accident reconstruction was performed.
