The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is closed due to high winds.

The ferry halted service at 1:15 pm Thursday, when an 18 mph wind out of the west-northwest created hazardous river conditions at the crossing.

When conditions improve, the ferry will announce when service will resume.

The Cave-In-Rock Ferry connects KY 91 with IL Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, KY, and Hardin County, IL. It normally operates from 6:00 am to 9:50 pm, 7 days a week. The ferry carries about 500 vehicles across the Ohio River in an average day.
