I-24 in Trigg County was reopened Tuesday night after being closed for several hours when a truck crashed and then caught fire., resulting in debris on the roadway, and damage to the barrier wall in a work zone.

The fire and debris blocked all lanes of I-24 at the 62 mile marker.

A box truck struck the centerline barrier wall and ripped open a fuel tank before striking the crash barrier at one of the emergency crossovers where it caught fire.

Traffic had to be detoured off the interstate via US 68 and KY 139.

Four other crashes occurred along the detour route involving trucks either in the ditch or disabled due to a jackknife, or a crash.

No reports of injuries from the crashes have been released.
