The 90th Kentucky state sheriff's training conference is underway.

The Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice is hosting the training, which is being called the Sheriff's Executive Command Course.

The majority of the commonwealth's 120 sheriff's traveled to Bowling Green for the conference to undergo the training, Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden was in attendance, and says it's his 13th year attending the conference.

The training will consist of emerging trends in law enforcement, contemporary leadership issues, KY office of homeland security training, library and archives of public documents, legal update's and administrative law issues, technology and education, and psychology preparation for combat.

This years conference also goes towards the required 40 hour department of corrections certification training.

The conference runs through Friday, allowing for sheriff's departments statewide to connect and share ideas.
