Lane Closures Start Monday on Eggners Ferry Bridge

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane along the existing 4-lane sections of US 68/KY 80 at each end of the New Eggners Ferry Bridge construction zone. All traffic will be moved to the outside or driving lanes to allow construction of crossovers on the median area along the passing lane starting Monday.

Construction of the crossovers is expected to take about 5 days with plans to move traffic through the crossovers around Friday, weather permitting. This change in traffic configuration is to assist with ongoing construction of the new bridge.

Drivers should use caution in these work zones at each end of the New Eggners Ferry construction site. The contractor on the new bridge is continuing extended concrete pours on an almost daily basis for the next several weeks.  These concrete pours require one lane traffic on the existing bridge and can be in place around the clock.
