Three North Carolina men were arrested Monday in Lyon County on drug and counterfeit money charges.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a Kuttawa business concerning several suspicious men attempting to use counterfeit money to purchase items in the business. Police responded to the area and found the suspects’ vehicle in a restaurant parking lot.

The three men were allegedly found in possession of marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, cash believed to be proceeds from the counterfeit money’s use, and some counterfeit $100 bills. All three men were arrested.

Twenty-six-year-old Eugene K. Boateng and 23-year-old Leernest Wells are both charged with criminal possession of forged instrument, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Twenty-two-year-old Jaquan Jamison is charged with possession of marijuana, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say the three were lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
