The Lyon County Property Valuation Administrator says residents have contacted her office about a man taking pictures of homes in the area.

People were notified on the Lyon County Facebook page that a man driving a silver Honda Accord has been taking photos of area homes. The man, who reportedly has white hair and a beard, was spotted Thursday morning near the Lyon-Caldwell County line. The post said he is not with the PVA of either county.

Lyon County PVA Christie Armstrong Cruce posted that the Marshall County license plates on the car are expired. Cruce said in a Facebook post Friday that the man contacted her, saying he works for a bank/mortgage company and was taking pictures of properties from the road on legitimate business. She stressed that he is not affiliated in any way with her office.

Cruce said her staff uses a white 2003 Chevy Trailblazer with PVA seals on the vehicle. She said all staff carry credentials and residents should not be afraid to ask to see them.
