According to an email sent out Friday, Murray State is now accepting scholarship applications.
MSU offers two types of scholarships: academic achievement and competitive. The academic achievement scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen at the time of admission. The competitive scholarships require students to complete Murray State's General Scholarship Application and are awarded after the application deadline.
For the scholarships and discounts to apply, undergraduate students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which opens October 1.
Murray State believes no one should be denied an education due to financial needs. The University offers the Murray State Promise, to provide scholarship assistance to help pay for tuition and mandatory fees if the student's combined federal, state, institutional and private gift aid total is less than the cost of Murray State's tuition.
