According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Main Street will close for approximately 2 hours beginning at 5 PM Saturday afternoon.
The closure will allow for the "Light Up Murray" Christmas Parade to travel from 10th Street to L.P. Miller Street. U.S. 641-Business/4th Street will also be closed at the Main Street intersection beginning at 5 PM.
Anyone traveling through the area can detour via side streets. Trucks should detour via U.S. 641 and Industrial Road. Caution is required due to heavy pedestrian traffic heading to the event area in downtown Murray.
Murray Police and other agencies will be providing traffic control along the parade route.
