The Graves County Sheriff's Office says deputies were dispatched to a truck that was stuck in the median on I-69 near the 26 mile marker. A deputy arrived and found 30-year-old Garrett Rowden, of Frisco, CO, in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and he appeared to be unconscious. The deputy also reportedly found several open alcohol containers in the vehicle.
While medical personnel and deputies were trying to load Rowden onto a stretcher, he allegedly tried to bite a deputy on the arm. Rowden also reportedly tried to get off the stretcher and had to be restrained with handcuffs.
Rowden was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center to be treated for his level of intoxication. After being treated at the hospital, he was arrested and lodged in the Graves County Jail.
He's charged with DUI, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of an open alcohol container and numerous traffic offenses.
