Man Faces Drug, Theft Charges After Traffic Stop

A Graves County traffic stop Friday led to the arrest of a Mississippi man on theft, drug and other charges.

The Mayfield Police Department arrested 26-year-old Johnathon Sedgwick, of Byhalia, MS after a traffic stop on Babb Drive. Officers determined that Sedgwick was driving a stolen vehicle, and was wanted out of the state of Mississippi.

Sedgwick was charged with fugitive from another state, receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no operator’s license, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance, and no registration receipt.

Sedgwick was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
