A Carlisle County man faces methamphetamine and other charges after a traffic stop Wednesday night in Ballard County.

The Ballard County Sheriff's Office says deputies made a traffic stop shortly after 10 p.m. in Wickliffe for traffic violations. Upon further investigation deputies determined the driver, 31-year-old Shane Courtney of Carlisle County, was driving on a DUI suspended license.

Further investigation showed Courtney had prior convictions of driving on a DUI suspended licence. A search revealed a small bag of meth on Courtney.

He was arrested and charged with driving on a DUI suspended license (third offense), possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Courtney was booked into the Ballard County Detention Center.
