A traffic stop Friday in Ballard County led to the arrest of a convicted felon on drug and gun charges.

The Ballard County Sheriff's Office says deputies stopped a pickup truck driven by Lance Dakin. Deputies said Dakin, a convicted felon, was said to be in possession of a handgun, and was reportedly acting very upset.

Deputies detected an odor of marijuana that seemed to be coming from the truck. Deputies found suspected marijuana, a handgun and ammunition during a search of the truck.

Dakin was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana (firearm enhanced) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.
