Marcella's Kitchen Open House Sunday at New Site

Marcella's Kitchen will have an open house Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at their soon-to-be-renovated new location, 501 George McClain Drive in Benton.  

From the founding of Marcella's Kitchen, it was the dream of Marcella Perkins and Grace Forte to have a permanent home in Benton for the community kitchen.

Last September, Perkins and the board of directors closed on the Stilley Professional Building, which was once the medical office building associated with the old hospital. The 7400-square foot building will allow the kitchen to serve twice as many people as the existing Draffenville location.

Don Riley of Riley Architectural Services in Mayfield will oversee the renovation plan. Glenn Harris Construction will be general contractor for the renovation. 

The new facility will also be available for rent to host special events.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled.
