A Crittenden County man was arrested Thursday on multiple charges after a short pursuit.

Livingston County Sheriff Bobby Davidson said he spotted a vehicle swerving on Shelby Store Road and attempted to pull it over. He said the driver led him on a short pursuit, but ran off the road and into a ditch near Butler Road. The driver, 33-year-old Kenneth J. Peek of Marion, reportedly attempted to flee on foot, but was caught and arrested.

A search led to the seizure of almost 3 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and two thousand dollars.

Peek was taken to McCracken County Jail on charges of reckless driving, fleeing or evading police in a vehicle and on foot, escape 3rd degree, trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, tampering with physical evidence, failure to maintain insurance, and improper windshield.

Kentucky State Police assisted in the investigation at the scene.
