Marshall County Couple Charged with Medicaid Fraud

The Kentucky Attorney General's Office says a Marshall County couple was indicted on fraud charges.

A grand jury indicted 54-year-old Ray Dufay and his wife, 54-year-old Melissa Dufay last week on one count each of Medicaid fraud, a Class D felony.

The grand jury also indicted Ray Dufay on one count of theft by deception over $500, also a Class D felony.

The couple is accused of submitting fraudulent time sheets for health, safety and welfare services Ray Dufay was paid to provide for his wife that he did not perform, totaling more than $300 in Medicaid losses. Ray Dufay also reportedly received more than $500 in payment from the Kentucky Medicaid program for which he was not entitled.

The couple will be arraigned on Sept. 24, in Marshall Circuit Court.

If convicted, Melissa Dufay faces up to five years in prison and Ray Dufay faces up to 10 years in prison.
