Marshall Man Arrested for DUI on a Golf Cart

A Benton man is accused of driving a golf cart while intoxicated.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, a deputy saw a golf cart disregard the stop sign at Scarlett Drive and Cope Road in Benton around 12:50 am Sunday. The deputy attempted to stop the golf cart but it continued to a driveway on Cope Road.

According to police, the driver, 41-year-old Jamie Blossom, was unsteady on his feet upon exiting the golf cart and had slurred speech and blood shot eyes. Blossom was arrested and charged with DUI, operating an ATV on the roadway and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

He was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
