The City of Mayfield has received a safety grant to go towards sidewalk repairs.

According to a press release, the City of Mayfield has been awarded a grant by the Kentucky League of Cities Insurance Services (KLCIS). The $1,652 safety grant will go towards much needed sidewalk repairs within the city.

"We use every opportunity to make our city safer," said Safety Officer Darin French

The KLCIS helps members increase public safety with the programs and services they offer, including providing safety grants to its members annually. The KLCIS has awarded over $4.5 million in safety grants since the program began in 1999.
