Graves County Public Library, 801 North 17th St. in Mayfield, offers several fun fall activities in October. Some you'll need to sign up for soon to participate. Below are some of the activities:

Teen Read Week-All of October
For the Month of October the Graves County Public Library will "Turn Your Dreams into Reality" during their  Teen Read Week. You can join their read a book and win-a-book contest. If you are between the ages of 13 and 19 years-old and read a book during October, fill out a form at the library and be put into a drawing for a special prize. All you have to do is write down your name and the title of the book you read and you will have a chance to win a book. 

Family Game Night at the Library
Tuesday, Oct. 7th from 5-7 pm you can spend some time as a family playing games such as · Life · Monopoly · Apples to Apples Jr. · Twister · They will also have a Wii set up to play console games. This event is for all ages and is free for the public to enjoy. There will be drinks and snacks served. Kids under 10-years-old should be with an adult.

National Family History Month
October 13th starting at 7 pm the library will host an Advanced Genealogy Workshop. This class will not be for beginners. If you have limited experience and would like to learn more about your family's history this workshop is for you. There will be a limit of 20 for the class so sign up at the library soon.

Pumpkin Painting Workshop
On Saturday, Oct. 18th, at 10:30 am, you will have creative freedom to decorate your very own pumpkin for Halloween. Miniature pumpkins and paint will be provided. Sign up a the Library if you would like to participate.

Movie Saturday at the Library
Join library organizers on Saturday, Oct. 18th at 1:30 pm for the action packed sequel of America’s strongest super hero along with his originally Russian spy sidekick. They are up against a terrifying assassin who is as cold as ice. Free Drinks and popcorn will be served. There will also be a drawing at the end of the movie for prizes. Children under the age of 13-years-old should be with an adult.

Family Friendly Halloween Film
Tuesday, Oct. 21st at 5 pm, The movie is about three witch sister, who after three centuries, are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night. It's up to two teen-agers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches' reign of terror once and for all. The library will serve free drinks and popcorn. Children under 10-years-old should be with a person over the age of 15.

Harry Potter Party
On Friday, Oct. 31st, starting at 3 pm, the Harry Potter Party will all about fun for children. Kids under 10-years-old should be with an adult. Drinks and snacks will be served. They will have a Hogwart Supplies Scavenger Hunt and a Wand Workshop. Sign up at the library if you want to participate.
