By West Kentucky Star Staff
GRAVES COUNTY - A Graves County man was arrested Sunday on theft and drug charges.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded Sunday afternoon to the area of Carrico Road to investigate the theft of multiple rims and tires valued at more than $3000. Deputies then responded to an address on State Route 339 in Dublin, where they found a truck matching the description of the one reported in the area at the time of the theft.

Deputies then made contact with 35-year-old James Thomas, of Mayfield. Deputies said Thomas had installed one set of the stolen wheels and tires on his truck. Thomas allegedly confessed to stealing the wheels and tires that were on his truck.

Thomas was arrested and his vehicle was searched, where deputies allegedly found a small amount of marijuana. His vehicle was impounded and he was lodged in the Graves County Jail on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $10,000 and possession of marijuana.

Deputies say they are still searching for some of the stolen wheels and tires. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.
