A Mayfield man has been charged with bringing drugs into the Graves County Jail.

The jail said in a press release that 27-year-old Tavon Carmen was arrested Saturday night. While being booked, Carman was reportedly seen throwing a plastic baggie of Suboxen pills down the hall. As Carman was being escorted to the jail's body scanner, he handed jail staff another bag of suspected methamphetamine.

Carman was charged with first degree promoting contraband, two counts of first degree possession of a controlled substance, first degree tampering with physical evidence and flagrant non-support.
