According to the Mayfield Police Department, officers responded to the area of Fairview Baptist Church Tuesday morning about a possibly armed man threatening to assault people. When police arrived, they found 34-year-old Deeric King of Mayfield behind a home on West Water Street.
Police detained King, who was found in possession of a loaded gun and a bag of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. He was arrested on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in cocaine and being a fugitive from justice.
He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
