An incident on Wednesday led to the arrest of a Mayfield man on several charges, including terroristic threatening.

The Mayfield Police Department says officers responded to a home in the 800 block of Ridgeway Street to investigate an alleged theft of a motorized bicycle. When officers were speaking with one of the men involved, 37-year-old Allen Weeks of Mayfield, he reportedly became irate and threatened to return during the night to set fire to the other man's home.

Weeks then started walking away, and ignoring an officer's commands to stop. He then fled on foot in the middle of North 15th Street, where his feet became entangled, causing him to fall to the ground. While the officers were trying to take Weeks into custody, he and two officers were nearly struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Weeks was placed under arrest and lodged in the Graves County Jail. He's charged with terroristic threatening, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication of a controlled substance (excluding alcohol).
