Mayfield Man Killed in Graves County Crash

State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Graves County Monday night that claimed the life of a Mayfield man.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers responded shortly after 11 pm to a crash on the KY 121 Bypass near KY 58. The preliminary investigation reportedly shows that 51-year-old Billy Travis of Mayfield was driving south on KY 121, when he ran off the right side of the roadway. Travis then overcorrected and went into the northbound lane, striking a pickup truck being driven by 66-year-old John Wagoner of Farmington.

Travis was pronounced dead at the scene by the Graves County Coroner. Wagoner was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
