Mayfield Stop Leads to Alcohol, Marijuana Charges

A Saturday afternoon traffic stop led to drug and other charges for a Mayfield man.

The Mayfield Police Department says officers stopped a vehicle shortly before 3 p.m. near the intersection of West Fuller and Wilford Streets. Officer say they learned the driver, 35-year-old Daniel Rust, had a suspended driver's license. They could reportedly also smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Officers said they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. 

Rust was arrested and booked into the Graves County Jail on charges of driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, and tampering with physical evidence.
