The collision happened at approximately 8:25 pm at the intersection of KY 80 East and KY 1124.
Kentucky State Police say 27-year-old Matthew R. Rowland, of Mayfield, was traveling west on KY 80 East. At the same time, 81-year-old Nancy E. Riley, also of Mayfield, failed to yield at the intersection as she attempted to cross KY 80 and pulled into the path of Rowland.
Riley was transported from the scene by Mayfield–Graves County EMS and taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. Rowland was not injured in the crash.
