More cases of COVID-19 were reported in western Kentucky and southern Illinois on Tuesday.
The Purchase District Health Department confirmed two new cases in McCracken County, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 87, with 61 recoveries and 2 deaths. The Purchase District Health Department has confirmed a cumulative total of 106 cases, with 70 recoveries and three deaths.
The Calloway County Health Department confirmed one new case of COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Calloway County to 43, with 35 cases fully recovered, five isolated at home, two hospitalized, and one death.
The Marshall County Health Department had no new cases to report. The total number of positive cases in Marshall County remains at 35 cases, with 31 recoveries and 2 deaths.
In southern Illinois, the Southern Seven Health Department confirmed four new cases of the virus. All four of those cases are in Union County.
Southernmost Illinois reports a total of 186 cases, with 68 recoveries and 4 deaths.
Union County has reported the majority of those cases with 123 total cases, 32 recoveries, and 4 deaths.
The number of cases in the other counties of the Southern Seven region are as follows:
• Alexander - 8 cases, 7 recovered
• Hardin - 1 case, 1 recovered
• Johnson - 7 cases, 4 recovered
• Massac - 6 cases, 5 recovered
• Pope - 1 case, 1 recovered
• Pulaski - 40 cases, 18 recovered
