An attorney who pleaded guilty to theft charges in August was sentenced Monday.
According to the Calloway County Circuit Court Clerk, Thomas W. Bolin was sentenced to ten years in prison. He had plead guilty to two counts of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.
The charges against Bolin were filed after Kentucky State Police began an investigation last year when they were contacted by a victim that alleged Bolin had not made all the required disbursement payments relating to a probate case he was overseeing.
The seven-month long investigation reportedly showed Bolin failed to disperse over $900,000 dealing with several probate cases.
Any restitution that Bolin would have to pay will be handled on a separate order, according to the court clerk.
