Murray Police Officer Dan Otterson recently spoke with West Kentucky Star about their upcoming cram the cruiser event in Murray.

The Murray Police Department and Cash Express will be hosting two 'Cram the Cruiser' events this year. The first will take place Saturday, November 23 at Tractor Supply in Murray. The second event is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, and will take place in front of Walmart in Murray. The events will be from 10 AM until 1 PM.

Otterson told West Kentucky Star it's all about community, "I'm blessed to live in Murray, I love this city and the people that are in it. I want to serve this community and give families a good holiday. I want to give kids a Christmas that they may not get if we're not there." Otterson continued, "For me to be able to have that connection with my community, it builds trust between the police and the community, but it gives back. I've been blessed in times of my life when people have been there to help me, and I just want to help people in my community as much as I can."

The Murray Police Department will be looking for toys, non perishable food, and coats. Donations will be going towards the Calloway County School system and Need Line.
