On Tuesday, officers with the Murray Police Department performed a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Tony Hughes.
Officers say that after speaking with Hughes it was determined that he may be under the influence of alcohol. Hughes was reportedly given a field sobriety test, then placed under arrest. While performing the traffic stop, officers say they also found methamphetamine.
He was lodged in the Calloway County Jail. Hughes is being charged with first offense possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and improper equipment.
