Murray Police Department program receives its second accreditation certification.
During the 47th annual Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP) conference on Thursday, the Murray Police Department received their second four-year accreditation certificate for their 911 communication center. The communication center is one of 8 agencies within Kentucky to receive the accreditation certification and only one of 6 to receive a second accreditation.
The program intends to provide law enforcement agencies with a way to demonstrate their efficient and effective operations. In order to receive the accreditation the agency must have made good decisions in regards to their policies and procedures that fit the requirements of their jurisdictions and to have successfully implemented the policies, and trained their employees on the policies.
Also occurring during the banquet, Chief Liles was sworn in as the newest Sergeant at Arms for the Executive Board of KACP. Liles was also appointed to the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Board of Directors. Both positions are two-year terms.
