Local health departments provided updated numbers of new cases of the novel coronavirus in our area on Friday.
The Marshall County Health Department reported 7 new cases of the virus on Friday. The new patients include three teenagers, two women in their 20s, a man in his 30s, and a woman in her 40s. Marshall County is now reporting a cumulative total of 109 cases. Of those cases, 80 have fully recovered and three deaths have been reported.
The Calloway County Health Department said it received notification of five new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The total number of confirmed cases for Calloway County is now at 141, with 117 cases fully recovered, 19 isolated at home, two hospitalized, and three deaths.
The Pennyrile District Health Department announced one new case in Crittenden County and two in Livingston County. Two of the patients are hospitalized; the third patient is isolating at home. The Pennyrile District Health Department is currently reporting a cumulative total of 169 cases, with 112 recoveries and four deaths.
The Southern Seven Health Department confirmed seven more cases in the southernmost counties of Illinois, including one in Alexander County, one in Pope County, and five in Union County. Currently, S7HD is reporting a cumulative total of 461 cases of COVID-19 in the Southern Seven region and 18 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Other health departments have not provided an update at this time. This story will be updated as new information is received.
