A month has gone by since the officer-involved shooting in Calloway County and the investigation is still ongoing.

According to the Kentucky State Police Post 1, the case of the officer-involved shooting of John D. Hale in Calloway County is ongoing. Trooper Jones with KSP Post 1 told West Kentucky Star that officials are waiting on lab results to come back and no new information has been released.

Back on November 2, detectives had responded to the Dexter community after reports of an incident. Law enforcement officials say a Calloway County Sheriff's Deputy and Murray Police Officer Justin Swope responded to Radio Road after a report of a suspicious person.

According to law enforcement, there was an altercation which resulted in Officer Swope fatally shooting 42-year-old Justin D. Hale of Almo. Neither officer was injured in the altercation.

The Murray Police Department later confirmed that Officer Swope was placed on paid administrative leave. The KSP Critical Incident Response Team is continuing the investigation.
