Police are investigating a bomb threat against Marshall County High School made on a social media site.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's office, at around 10:30 am Friday administrators at Marshall County High School were notified of a possible bomb threat that had been posted to a social media site. As a precaution, students were evacuated and law enforcement was notified.

Two more posts were made, including one that stated the threat was not a joke, and a third stating, "We've got guns."

Marshall County deputies, Benton police officers and a Kentucky State Police bomb dog made a search of every room and structure on campus, after which the all clear was given and students were returned to the school to finish the day.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the source of the posts.
