A Paducah man faces theft and drug charges in Mayfield.

The Mayfield Police Department says an employee of Graves County High School reported his vehicle stolen from the parking lot of the high school on Sunday. The vehicle was later found abandoned on Luisa Drive near State Route 121 North. Contents of the vehicle were then reported stolen.

After an investigation, it was discovered that 40-year-old Robert Langston, of Paducah, had taken the vehicle from the parking lot. On Monday, Langston was found in his room at the Wingfield Inn. Officers said the items reported stolen from the vehicle were also found in his room.

Police also found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the room. Langston was arrested and taken to the Graves County Jail.

He's charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, theft by unlawful taking under $500, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
